We can now enjoy June's cover of Vogue Japan, where Naomi Campbell-Doronina shines in Gucci Spring/Summer 2011 golden dress like an african warior woman. The super model's been on the cover of Vogue Japan twice (this one and November 1999), and is one of only two black models (with Liya Kebede in January 2004) who have ever appeared on the cover of Japanese Vogue.
Let's enjoy Naomi shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Orange, orange everywhere.
What's interesting, French L'Officiel March 2011 cover featured the same Gucci dress, but worn by Beyoncé (shot by Mark Pillai). Both times we have beautiful women with beautiful bronze skin, that's perfect for the dress, so the covers are equally beautiful too.
But
I personally give my preference to Vogue cover, not because I like Naomi or Beyoncé more. Firstly, there's something wrong with the face expression of the pop/R'n'B diva, something unpleasant. Secondly, it's my Beloved VOGUE - my Beloved Vogue..
